The increment function in Make.com is your go-to tool for counting and tracking values in your automations.
Whether you’re managing inventory, keeping tabs on user registrations, or simply wanting to tally how many times an event occurs, this function makes it a breeze.
If you’re new to it, no worries—it’s straightforward yet offers powerful capabilities for managing numerical data.
Let’s dive in!
Hey Max, thanks for the article! I’m kinda new to Make.com and this increment function sounds super useful. But I’m wondering, can it handle more complex scenarios like resetting the count after a specific condition is met? Or is it just for simple counting? I’d love to hear if you’ve tried something like that!
You have three options that will reset the value of the increment function; never, after one cycle, after one scenario run.
So unfortunately, I don’t think it’s possible to resetting the count after a specific condition is met. Would be a cool feature!
Hey Max, thanks for the tutorial! Quick question though—what happens if the increment function hits a really high number? Does it slow down or cause any issues?
I’ve never thought about that, but I think it should be no issue. It’s very easy for a computer to increase a number by 1, no matter how big the number.
This article is very helpful! I found the video tutorial quite clear. I hope to use increment function soon.
Hi Max, thanks for the tutorial! Quick question—can this function handle negative increments too? I’m trying to track stock reductions but not sure if it’s possible here.
I think you need a different solution for that, like subtracting the number of your current stock.
The increment is mostly useful to count how many times a scenario ran, and do things based on that.
In theory you could check how many times the scenario ran and subtract that from the total stock, but I’m not sure if that’s best.
Tried this once, kinda worked? Still figuring it out lol
Anything specific that didn’t work? 😋
